Does LBCV do mid week tasks ? |
|
No LBCV will only ever do do Practical Conservation tasks on the first Sunday of the month in North East London. We may also have a stall at Green events such as the LBWF Green Fair and the Lea Valley Park Wildlife Weekend.
There are other conservation groups that do mid-weeks tasks close to Connaught Close such as BTCV and the Lea Valley Park Rangers. Details of these tasks are included in the Newsletter. |

The next task will be on Sunday 5 September 2010 when we will be planting native species such as snowdrops and bluebells in the wooded areas of Tottenham Marshes to increase the biodiversity of the area. There will be an optional cycle ride to the task site. |

The next task will be on Sunday 1 August 2010, it is a change to the published task, so please subscribe to the newsletter to receive a detailed task description once the site visit has been completed. We will be working in the Middlesex Filter Beds off Lea Bridge Road. |

The next task will be on Sunday 4 July 2010 when we will be working in the ditch and Bomb Crater Pond helping the flowering rush flourish on Walthamstow Marsh. |

The next task will be on Sunday 6 June 2010 when we will be removing invasive species, including Japanese Knotweed, goats-rue, ragwort and bramble this will help the wanted native vegetation flourish on Walthamstow Marsh. |

The next task will be on Sunday 2 May 2010 when we will be travelling out to Gunpowder Park to remove tree guards and invasive vegetation, including goats-rue and Himalayan Balsam, to help the native vegetation flourish. There will be an optional off road cycle ride to the task site along the Lea River cycle path. |

The next task will be on Sunday 4 April 2010 when we will be helping to conserve the hidden industrial heritage of the Filter Beds by removing encroaching vegetation to help protect the integrity of the beds walls, without disturbing any potential nesting sites. More details will be available in the newsletter after the task leader's site visit. |
